Luke May + the past week

The past week has been spent:
  • Compiling summer playlists: Summer 2x
  • Consuming a week's supply of Tesco value sweets
  • Booking gig tickets
  • At the pub
  • In my car
  • At work
  • At home
  • In the garden, with the sun
Friday night I went to see Luke May play Chacombe, very good - and dashing footwear:

Friday afternoon I went on a really long drive around the countryside with my sister (whose photos are significantly better than mine). A little conglomeration of our photography is below:

How inappropriate..

I've only recently caught up with the Arsenal vs Liverpool game on Match of the Day and couldn't help but notice this......During a very serious and solemn minutes' silence at the Emirates Stadium...all the players are huddled, arms inter-locked, not a pin-drop to be heard.

However, an 8ft tall, fat, green mascot with a permanent grin etched on his furry face has snuck on to the end of the players huddle...how ridiculous and out of place does he look!

Standing next to Theo Walcott as well, probably the smallest player on the pitch!

Oh, and then he just trots off, wagging his little tail....

EEEEEE-LIZAAA

Cracking photography of pappa chad!

Lyrical

Still, Baz Lurhmann - Everybody's Free is the best lyrical song of all time. And based on that amazing poem from the lady I can't remember.

Currently, the lyrical genius' you need are this band, and more specifically this song:
Skool Of Thought – We Play The Music

Then you need to check out the acoustic version of We Play The Music, Life Gets Better and Love Your Life.
Then, buy the album and put it in your car stereo and glue the volume to max :)

WE PLAY THE MUSIC - ED SOLO & SKOOL OF THOUGHT

All into discotheque,
Holding together now.
No matter what the weather now
Reach in your bag and pull another record out
Gather round hot steppers were out stepping out.

Ooohhhh, hot as a furnace.
Got everybody jumping across the Earth's surface.
So please, turn it up,
it's about a thousand degrees and I'm burning up.
I wanna piece of what you're cooking so serve it up.
You think that you've heard it all.
You haven't heard enough. I wanna
Keep rocking till the beat starts thumping
When the b-line's jumping and my feet start stomp.
Ohhh I'm feeling oh so marvelous
And the people gather round in the club with us
there's something that people should know, now (yeah, yeah)

We play the music for the people all around,
Getting high with my feet on the ground.
We keep it moving and there ain't no stopping now.
So my DJ just turn it right round.

Life without music is unbearable
So terrible, unfeasible
Unbelievable and incomprehensible
Can you imagine a life without festivals
House parties up last to bestival
Glastonbury to Notting hill carnival
We commit tonight the party
We follow you now
Let’s get down

We got it if you want it, people never give it up
Dance until your feet get hot (hot)
We got it if you want it, people never give it up
Dance until the music stops (stop)
We got it if you want it, people never give it up
Dance until your feet get sore (sore)
We got it if you want it, people never give it up
DJ please give them one more (more)

We play the music for the people all around,
Getting high with my feet on the ground.
We keep it moving and there ain't no stopping now
So my DJ just turn it right round

Stand up, hands up, don't sit down
Gather round everybody and get down
Slim, fat, white, black, all people
Ain't no matter where are you from were all equal
All colors, all creed and gender
Races and faces presenter
To the people on floor surrender
To the sound of the music and extender
I am a party animal Hell yes
To let you know if you don't already know this
Make intentionally everybody notice
‘cause you've been listening to random acts of kindness
there's something for the world to enjoy
Every god damn man woman girl and boy
Just swing it over here
And give it to me now

We play the music for the people all around,
Getting high with my feet on the ground.
We keep it moving and there ain't no stopping now
So my DJ just turn it right round.
We play the music for the people all around,
Getting high with my feet on the ground.
We keep it moving and there ain't no stopping now
So my DJ just turn it right round.

Pictorial evidence of the last few days

Alright, been a while. Last few days have been spent mostly enjoying the sun. It's amazing how much better you feel when you wear a T-shirt. Urgh who needs coats.

Yesterday, I sat in the garden and read countless articles about the ineffectiveness of the PCC. That sounds boring but the phone hacking scandal really ruffles my feathers! (yeh my 70th's just round the corner...)

Sorry, this is a pretty picture, but the washing line ruins it a bit. Blame the padre, for making it impossible to take down.
And no, thats shadow, not a grey cloud. Good weather in the UK does last at least a few hours..

Currently trawling through my CD catalogue for 'cheese' for this weekend's set. Also, I've also started work on 2 pieces of season finale audio for my Sport Show. The last weekend of the season is 23rd April, then the last game is on the bank holiday Monday - the 25th. I'm on live covering both days so don't miss, get the dates in the diary!! I've got some big plans that involve a personal mix of Two Tribes by Frankie Goes To Hollywood. Of course the audio will be on the Louis Chadwick online site after the shows go out :)

Last Sunday I went with my fam and friend to see Eliza Doolittle in Leamington. Very entertaining night. She of course played a former record of the week of mine:

Now, one of our shows on Banbury Sound, Cortina Nights, celebrates everything about the Leamington Assembly. So, I did try and blag my way backstage. The guy wasn't having any of it, but you're not to know that. Met Eliza, went to the pub with her band and partied into the early hours..
It sounds more glam than saying I went to McDonalds drive-thru. That definitely didn't happen.

Here's one for you, have you ever tried a Pizza Naan? Bloomin' good. Think it was a Nigella recipe I used to love years ago!

Grab a naan, drip some water on front and back, chuck in the oven wrapping in tin foil for about 4/5 mins. Take it out, smear some tomato puree on it, grated cheese and your choice topping - back in the oven till that all melts :)

You can go to town: get a peshwari, keema naan etc.

I'd like to introduce a new feature to this blog as well:

Idiot(s) of the week!
When Lucie asked for some help with filling up, I just thought she couldn't hold a nozzle. No, half an hour it took us to try and remove the fuel filler cap for a VW Polo. Man, I love my righty-tighty-lefty-loosy screw cap :)

 Ciao for now x
